Spud:The Movie- Judge's Homophobia Complaint

I can't believe that Justice Edwin Cameron of the South African Constitutional Court laid a complaint against the references made about gay's and lesbians in the film, 'Spud: The Movie' (Donavon Marsh; 2010). The reference was made in a humourous and comedic context, therefore no offence was ment by the line "Rug munchers, I would like to give them a good rogering" said by the Guv (the eccentric english teacher in the film played by John Cleese).
However, I do see Cameron's point as some would obviously take offence, however, being one that "bats" for the same "team" as any other homosexual person, I didn't take any offence and I saw sthe humour in the said dialogue as I know that they were there for comedic effect and laying emphasis on the typical attitude in South Africa when the story was to be set (early 90's).
I therefore commend the response written by John 'Spud' Milton himself, explaining that the Guv"was probably drunk at the time and he was probably showing off as he always does with his bizzare reference's and shocking opinions" (Sunday Times newspaper, Tuesday January 16th, 2011). Weldone to 'Spud' and hopefully no more offences will be taken...
