Nowhere Boy

Epic 2009 film starring Aaron Johnson; Kristin Scott- Thomas and Anne- Marie Duff; and directed by Sam Taylor- Wood.
This is the story of John Lennon in his teenage years before the forming the hit 1960s band, The Beatles. The film includes the tragic death of his wayward mother, and the reason behind John having to live with his guardian who is also his mothers sister, Mimi. The audience gets a good idea of what life was like in Britain in the late 1950s.

The film ends with the young members of The Beatles leaving for their first gig in Hamburg, where John promises to phone Mimi as soon as he arrives, and the film ends with subtitles informing the audience that John phones Mimi every week after that until his assassination in 1980.
